On Thursday the 5th Jessica, Mum and I went on a bushwalk down to a waterfall and water hole with our friends Jazz, Luke, Zara, their mum Jadine and Jazz's friend Ella.
It took us about 15-25 minutes to get to Harry's House, a cave by the waterfall. As soon as we got there everone but Jadine and Mum took off their clothes and jumped into the waterhole (We did have togs on underneath of course!).
Jess, Luke and I were the first under the waterfall. I don't even think Jazz and Ella went under the whole time!
After about half an hour Luke, Jess and I went off exploring. The first thing we found was another waterfall, but it was smaller.
Sorry Not finished yet.
And sorry this is late.
The Davie family have crossed the ditch, moving from New Zealand to Australia in December 2011.

Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve
On The 3rd Of January, Jess, Mum and I went to the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve.
It is about 5kms out of Maleny. The track is 2.1kms and if you walk normally it takes about 45 mins and if you stop and look occasionally it takes about an hour. On the way there we stopped and had a look at the Glasshouse Mountains. We had a great view.
When we got to the track we had to pay a gold coin donation to get in. When we got in there was a diorama room before you got into the Rainforest. I was having a feel of the shark's spiky teeth while Jess and Mum were looking at birds. Jess called out "Hey, Mum, Ali come and look at these pretty birds!". There was an orange and black one and a yellowish one sitting on a branch next to an egg. Sadly they were stuffed. They were real once upon a time though. Then finally we got to go into the rainforest. I loved it because it looked sooooo pretty. At the start of the path you see a big tree and it's roots are huge. Mum loved it so she got a picture of it with Jess and I.
Jess and I standing next to the century old vine. It was soooooooo cool!! We couldn't tug on it though, otherwise it would of come out of the ground and snap!!
The tree was sooooo awesome.
The roots are soooooo tall and skinny. We saw one in Fiji and Dad made me cry by hiding behind it!

The next thing we saw that we thought was pretty cool was some fungus on a fallen tree log trying to break it down into compost.
The next amazing thing we saw was a Century Old Vine that had be held up by a rope it was that big and old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The 100 yr old vine hanging on a rope so it doesn't fall on anyone's head. It looks like a person. |------------------------------------------->Jess and I standing next to the century old vine. <--------------------------------------
The second awesomest thing (Vine was first)
was a Strangler Fig, that was hollow!! Mum got
a comparison picture of me standing in front of it. It was huge! Plus it was 400-500yrs old. I only look bigger because I am closer to the camera by the way!!
Next we saw a tree with curly roots. My third favourite thing on the bush walk!! It was sooooo cool!!! The tree was sooooo awesome.
The roots are soooooo tall and skinny. We saw one in Fiji and Dad made me cry by hiding behind it!
The next thing we did was finished the walk and had lunch! Yum. I had a half butter and half honey sandwich and Jessica had a ham and tomato sauce sandwich. I can't remember what Mum had.
Here is a map of the track that we went on and what else we saw that I didn't put on. Plus a picture of the Glasshouse Mountains that we saw a man painting.

Underwater World
On Friday the 30th of December mum, Alicia and I went to UNDERWATER WORLD because there was nothing to do at home. First Ali and I saw a hammer head shark, a stingray and some other fish. Then we went running off to see the seals. The first thing one of the seals did was came out and had a ball on its snoz (nose) and went down a little waterfall with the ball still on its nose. Sly (one of the seals) could hold himself on two flippers and Groucho (another seal) could hold himself up on one flipper!
After the seal show mum went back to the counter to get little tickets so we could get...kissed...by...a...SEAL!!! While mum was doing that Ali and I went and put our hands in a fish tank because we were allowed to. When mum came over I asked if I could pick up a blue starfish. And one of the ladies working there said "Sure. Pick up this one." After I had a hold I asked Ali if she wanted to hold and she said "OK". So I gave her the starfish. I went and held an even BIGGER starfish.
Then we went to the billabong and saw Nikita.... Nikita is a big freshwater saw fish. Her snout looks like a chainsaw. Also in Nikita's tank there was a Crocodile. He was the king of the tank.

and continued by Ali.....
In that tank we also saw some Baramundi. They are HUGE!!! In a section in that tank (blocked off from the other part) was some more Baramundi and some more fish. We saw a Big Catfish and at the bottom of the tank were Red Devils. The Catfish can eat humans so Watch Out!!!
After that we went back to the Otter Enclosure to watch the show. There were a lot of people there! During the show a little girl (3 yrs old?) kept asking me questions!!! The lady (Katy) told the audience that the otters (Chaos, Mayhem and Lou) kept sneaking out at night. The keepers found out that they had been lifting up the doors that kept the three Enclosures separate, so they put some wooden stoppers on the bottom of the door. Then one otter always had a limp and it was always a different otter and a different paw. The otter that had a limp was actually carrying a pebble that it dropped when it went under the door, and the pebble made just enough of a gap for the otters to once again hold up the door for each other to get through at night. So now the otters don't have any doors in their way and just roam freely.
When the show was finished we quickly ran to Seal Island. We watched the show and I clearly pointed out that the Seals had been trained to push anyone called Sam into the water and to steal her pants. After the seal show we waited on the bottom row of seats to get kissed by a seal. The seal we were getting kissed by was April. When it was finally my turn I carefully leaned in and got kissed. The kiss felt wet and slobbery and the seal smelt fishy.
After the seal kisses we went to the gift shop. We bought Dad a rubber Underwater World Can Holder. Jess got a glass Sword Fish and I got a glass Otter because Otters are my favourite Sea Animals.
I LOVE UNDERWATER WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
